Forever Grateful

Hiya!

So today I thought I would write a list of ten things that I'm grateful for because sometimes we just need reminding. Right?

Life hasn't been so perfect lately but really, who's is?

These are my ten things and they are seriously in no particular order but rather the order they popped into my brain!

1. My animals // They give me cuddles and want my attention. They don't ask for too much out of me and in turn give so much love. They calm me when I'm anxious or sad. All three of them are just AWESOME.

2. The Minions// Pia and Noah are crazy little people who make me want to pull my hair one second and cuddle in bed and watch tv with the next. They're both growing into amazing humans and each day is more and more fulfilling with them. Knowing I raised them pretty much alone is an even more amazing feeling.

3. Bob// This man is something I've been dreaming of for a long time. I'm the worst hopeless romantic you've ever met and  he's seriously not at all but somehow it works. He keeps me sane! I've never been in a relationship where I don't feel like I'm mothering the other person. He's different we're equals and both bring all of us to the table. We work and I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus he's silly.

4. Friends// Not any in particular but just all of them as a whole. They all have their personality traits that I totally admire about them. Kat is so loving, fun, down for anything, and genuine, she's herself and doesn't make any apologies for it. Lex is reliable, outgoing, best secret keeper, and gives the best advice. These are only two of my amazing list of friends. I love them all so much.

5. The ability to Travel// Traveling is my drug. No joke I cannot go more than a couple of months without a big trip. It's just an innate part of who I am. Exploring and getting lost somewhere makes me happy. Sitting in a field and watching nature makes me SO happy! I would without hesitation give my last dime to be able to have another adventure.

6. Music Concerts/Shows// I love music so much. It has always been my soothing mechanism. I would pop in a cd and listen to the same 12 songs over and over again until I got out of whatever mood I was in. On the other hand it is an aid to a good time, always! I've been making more time for shows since Bob and I started dating because he loves music just as much as I do. We always seem to just make the world disappear around us and focus on the band/instruments/singer. I love that feeling.

7. My house// Security is a huge part of what we are all looking for, no? I'm happy to be living in one of my parent's rentals and not have to worry about rent or apartment life. Even though it might be fleeting, I'm glad we have a roof over our heads there's many that don't. 

8. Knowledge// It really is the key to everything, don't you think? There are times when maybe I wished I was oblivious to something but always look back on it and welcomed the knowledge. It opens doors career wise and just to live life in general. I'm one of those people who just likes to know. If I hear about something I've never heard about before I take three minutes and read at least a little about it. Why not? There's so much to know and it all somehow provokes you to think.

9. My Oma/ My Opa// These are my grandparents. I've been calling them Oma and Opa since I was born, which is the German name for Grandpa and Grandma. My grandpa was fascinated by Germany and actually lived there for some time before moving back to Paraguay and that's why I call them that. I'm not very close to my family but I've always been close to them. My Opa is now gone but I always remember him and what he taught me. My Oma is actually here visiting right now and she makes me so happy! She just gets me and is just such a giving, loving, caring, amazing human being. I strive to be her. Period. 

10. Knowing Who I Am// I might not know what I want to do with the rest of my life but I do know who I am! I've always sort of been against the grain. Felt out of place for the longest time but for the last couple of years I've been extremely comfortable with who I am. It doesn't bring you anything else but confidence and for me inner happiness. I've always known but would sometimes be shamed into not being my best me. Those days are gone. 

You learned a little about me and I got to remind myself that even in those bad days there's always good!

Hi. Hello. Hiya. What's up?

I have missed you all so dearly! It's been entirely too long since I've been on this here blog and I'm bursting with things to tell you.

I was only suppose to be gone for a couple of days while the boy and I went on our trip to Chicago, but that turned into a week..which turned into two.. and here we are at about a month. 

I've been so bogged down with feelings and just drama with my work situation that doing much else has been a constant struggle.

I can't live for what's to come tomorrow so I decided to live for what's here today. 

Avoiding everything only exacerbates the problem and doesn't make me any happier, on the contrary, it makes me more anxious!

I love this blog and I love all of you. 

Tomorrow I will be back with some of the things we did in Chicago. 

I hope you've missed me.. because I've missed you!

"Where's Fluffy?"

    Hiya!

Happy Wednesday! I figured since I had shared some of my musical tastes with you on Monday, I should share some movies as well. If you haven't noticed by now, I'm an assorted conglomeration of a person.

Some of my personal taste surprises people but I can't help what I like.. right?! 

Ok. Enough blabbering. We shall get to the movies.

I have to say that this list was pretty hard to compile. This is honestly just a fraction of the movies that I love but are some of the most watched by me for sure. The size of the picture also has no bearing on how much I love a movie it's just how I made the collage. Well, except for Star Wars, that should have a whole picture to itself. Either way, let me tell you why I love each of them so.

1//Pride & Prejudice-- I read the book in high school and fell in love with it. I didn't have a very high expectation for this movie because I loved the made for TV movie, that came out in 1995, by the BBC. I was oh, so wrong. They capture the emotion of the characters so well. Keira Knightley was even nominated for an Oscar because of it! A really good watch.

2//Toy Story-- This movie and all of the sequels are so good. They just take me back to childhood.When I was younger, I made beds next to me for all my stuffed animals. After seeing this movie for the first time I was like, yes! they are real! haha.

3//A Streetcar Named Desire-- I read the play in college and then found out there was a movie with Marlon Brando.. ummm sign me up! It follows the play almost exactly, which is what I love about it! Deals with psychological struggles of a woman named Blanche and how her realities are different from the world around her. She interacts with her sister and brother-in-law and chaos ensues.

4//The Notebook-- I know, I know.. I'm such a girl! I had to... I can seriously quote this movie from beginning to end. It makes me cry from the very beginning, I'm so lame. It's just such a good love story.

5//Star Wars-- My one true nerdy love. What can you say about these epic movies really? They're just amazing. The end.

6//The Crow-- Weird choice. I know. I've always had a fascination with death. This movie has it all death, love, the supernatural, and action. The main character is a batman or sorts that comes back to avenge his and his fiance's death. If you haven't seen, it check it out.

7//Empire Records-- This is another movie I can quote along to. It's about a couple of teenagers trying to save their mom & pop record store from becoming a big, corporate music store. It has teenage angst, love, heartache, and hello.. music!

8//Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist-- I watch this movie a couple of times a month. I love everything having to do with Kat Dennings (she's such a babe!). It's about, primarily, two teenagers and the night they have in NYC. I want one of those nights! I love music so much! This whole post is named after this flick, FYI.

9//Clue-- Murder mystery that's based on the game. I love the game and this movie is awesome! It's also quite cheesy, in my opinion, which only makes it better.

10//Oliver and Company-- AH! The cutest movie ever.. About the bond of a dog and a cat in NYC. It's seriously one of the most underrated Disney movies ever!

11//Beauty and the Beast--Pretty sure everyone has seen this one.. but it's always a feel good romance. I know they're cartoons people! So what? I love the beast.. and honestly was more attracted to him as the beast than him as the prince. meh.

FACTS:

• I love the color purple. It's pretty much the most amazing color in the rainbow and if I could wear purple everyday I probably would. I mean I guess I could.. but then you would think I was loony. It's been my unwavering fave since the age of 5. I remember it being my favorite that long ago. Weird.
• I was born in Paraguay and my whole extended family still lives there. Many of you will probably have to bust out an atlas, I hope some of you still own one, to find it. It's in the middle of South America, saved ya the trouble. I'll do a whole blog post about it at some point. The culture is still a very big part of me and my life. I visited every summer until Pia was born. Darn children.. haha.

• This is a random one for sure, I have really bad depth perception. No, truly horrible. I can never tell, in a car, how far away I am from another car and it often takes me wayyy too long to back out of a spot. Also this affects every other part of my life, the car one is just the most annoying!
• At the ages of 15-18 I wore only Disney t-shirts with everything. That was really my wardrobe. I still have some that my kids are now fitting into or my little brother has used. They were in all different colors and characters, I didn't discriminate. 
• I am a chocolate FIEND. It's pretty obnoxious how much I love chocolate. I have to have a piece of chocolate at least once a day. I crave it like a drug. Well that was weird to write but oh, so very true. 

• I cannot keep a plant alive to save my life. Even cacti come to die at my house. You didn't think that was possible? Come over and I'll show you. I think it's because I just forget to water them.. but sometimes it's also because I overdo it. Hopefully someday soon I'll get to grow some beautiful plant and feel accomplished!
• I love vinyl. I've been obsessed with the 40s-50s since I can remember. I have a small record collection that keeps on growing. The ones I have are from both new and old artists alike. I enjoy lounging on my bed and listening to some tunage to relax.
