Rewind it.

Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxing and productive which is always good.
I've been crafting and sewing a lot these days. It seems like I have a new idea pop into my head daily.
Sometimes it is a little exhausting though because I don't know what to start on first....that's always the first question I have. I made the Aladdin painting below for Pia's room. Have a couple of other ones in the works for her as well.
I took Saturday off of work and had a garage sale at Bob's house and boy was it worth it. I made more than I would have at work for sure and got rid of a ton of stuff.
The kids had so many toys that they have wayyyy outgrown and it was time.

Willow is such a diva and I swear almost every time I try to take a good picture she does that. I didn't even have the flash on! She's also always laying on whatever it is i'm sewing at the moment... Oh kitties.
We also treated ourselves to a date at a super yummy restaurant 45 minutes away. They have the most delicious artichoke/spinach dip EVER. It is to die for.
That was pretty much my weekend summed up for you, except for all the Breaking Bad we've been watching. There's only a couple more episodes left to watch until we're all caught up for the new episodes this week! Can't wait!

Weekend in Review: Sara Bareilles/Last drink party

sara bareilles crowd surf
Hi, you lovely people, you!
I would like to first say that this weekend was nothing short of A-mazing. I had way too much fun and it should definitely be illegal. Seriously.
Also, I've been trying to post this since this morning.. all the photos were grainy and were driving me nuts! I finally figured out how to fix it. ::sigh of relief::

Really.. who wants to know about that?!  No one!
Friday afternoon Bob and I drove up to Austin, which is five hours away, to watch the lovely Sara Bareilles. She was nothing short of amazing. Seriously.. if you only like her a little don't forgo getting tickets in a town near you. I sound like some kind of paid spokesperson. She was that amazing!
I learned that Sara likes to cuss, crowd surf, and to sing songs from The Little Mermaid. I mean, hello? How could she be anymore rad. She couldn't. I regret not staying to give her a hug afterward but we had to drive home. We're totally insane. I'm fully aware.
The video below is a tiny vine that I made of her singing.. Super short. Don't get too excited.
We got home in the wee hours of the morning. I slept for around two and a half hours and went to work. I was seriously running on fumes for the rest of the day.
Saturday was my litte brother's first communion and the whole family was in town to celebrate. I went to the mass, not by choice, and then went to the party. Hung out with my sister who was down from Dallas for the rest of the afternoon/early evening while the kids splashed in the pool.
The photo below is my brother, my sister, me, my mom, and my dad at our first communions. I know it's blurry. My mom didn't get a very good photo. Good memories, even though I no longer follow any religion.

I came home to some friends already drinking without me :(! I had to remedy this immediately.
Cheers!

It wouldn't be a party without burgers! We're always burning some kind of meat on the grill outside.

There's always someone over, with some kind of drink, and tons of laughs during the weekend. Laughing is for sure the best medicine. We had this little get together for one of Bob's best friends pictured below with him and their slayings for the weekend.
This took them two nights worth of drinking. Chuck, Bob's friend, won't be drinking for next 5 years because of some craziness with the law. Who would've thunk it? Just kidding!
Sunday we dedicated to laying around and watching movies. The boys finished the beer later on that night and I went to sleep. Every girl needs beauty sleep. Right?

Hope you enjoyed that because I know we sure did!

Happenings around the Abode

Hello Gals!
So today I'm being a lazy potato at home I've had a pretty long weekend.
Friday night it was one of our best friends thirtieth birthday parties. Where has the time gone? I feel so old sometimes knowing that so many of my friends are thirty or above. Crazy.
We had tons of fun. Maybe too much fun?! I needed a day to rest from work on Saturday, so I played hooky. It was much needed! The kids were with my mom and by the time I got out of work they were in the pool.. YES, you read that correctly. The pool. It was over 90 degrees on Saturday. Disgusting really.
Thankfully today we're back in the 60s. Pretty glad about that. I can go outside and not have my face melted off. Look at these super cute kitties lounging about the house. I got too close to willow above and she couldn't keep her eyes open with the flash. Ha! I gave her a second chance to show those sparkly green eyes of hers.
I was pretty productive around the house on Sunday. I cleaned up the Hurricane like destruction all around the house and put up some new blinds, with the help of the boy of course. I also spoiled myself a bit and bought some succulents and cacti. Aren't they cute?!
I had so many empty containers sitting around my house. They've been begging for some cute little plants. I really do hope these don't die though because I have been called the plant killer.. Bob even hummed the Funeral March as we loaded them up into the car. What a punk! They will survive!
My absolute favorite! I thought this one belong sticking out of my "crystal" skull :)
How was your weekend? Anything exciting? Any tips on how to keep these plants alive?

The fun commences!

Happy Tuesday ladies!!
Gueeessss what? I mean aside that I'm still alive and well. Pretty stoked on that. I had tons of fun in Mexico and honestly can't wait to go back. How can you not have loads of fun with good friends?
If you didn't read my post from last week I went to go see the boy and his band play in Mexico.
They took awesome care of us. We had tacos at the end of the night and just enjoyed good company.

We walked across the bridge to get there and back and Sunday morning we were back by 10 AM.
Duh! We had to be back for Dark Lord Day tickets.
It was decided we would take a nap and then wake up to get the tickets.
Well I woke up but since Bob is crazy and stayed up all night it took almost fifteen minutes to get him up... BUTTTTT
We were victorious!!! I cannot believe that on the first year we try we score tickets. It took about an hour to officially sell out because the site kept crashing and what not. I'm sure most of those were already spoken for within the first minute though. I was super scared we weren't going to get them but WE DID. First time going to Chicago and I seriously don't even know what we're going to see.
Any suggestions? Of course I want to go see the big things..but are they all worth it? Help!
Yesterday I was looking things up and my head was spinning because of all the things that there were to do. It was insane.
Does anyone have suggestions around where to stay? I want to be kind of within walking distance of things.. going to the DLD on Saturday won't be a problem.
This is the chaos that awaits us.. AH! I hate being around this many people but for the experience I will go once. There's also all these rare beers that they only tap that one day. I guess I shall try.

Oh, Three Floyds I'm sure you won't disappoint us.
Please give us suggestions of where to stay? what to do? any piece of tid bit would be helpful. I need to get these things booked!

With all my LOVE,

Pati
